Infused and Acquired Theology

Lutheran and Reformed theologians took over the distinction between the basic disposition (habitus) and the act (actus) of theology, between “infused” and “acquired” theology. The former is the property of all believers. In principle they knew “the whole of theology,” having a true and accurate knowledge of God. But as “acquired” theology it belongs only to those who study the knowledge of God scientifically.
