Gomarus and the 39 Articles

Gomarus explained that he had misunderstood the confession and would willingly submit himself to the judgment of the Synod for his error. Gomarus, however, went on to explain that the reason he mistakenly thought that the Church of England had not decided on the object of predestination was because he thought that William Perkins (1558-1602) and William Whitaker (1548-95), two fellow supralapsarians, would not be in conflict with the confession of the church.
