The Holy Spirit uses all these three mediums—the Word, the sacraments, and Christian fellowship—to bring about sanctification in the life of the believer. They are important instruments, but they are useful only as long as Christ is delivered through them... It is Christ Himself whom the Holy Spirit seeks to convey through the church ordinances.
