Hodge's Confusion
In Hodge’s world, any educated nineteenth-century Lutheran could say what constitutes the Reformed “system of doctrine. When, however, he gave his own summary it was, in effect, the five heads of doctrine from the Synod of Dort. That is, he reduced the system to soteriology.
