Relative, Personal Righteousness

What [Calvin] is saying is that believers in and of themselves do not possess absolute righteousness; rather, they possess the absolute righteousness of Christ through faith, but abo, as a result of this, a relative form of personal righteousness, which is due to the work of God's Spirit and which is treated by God in the context of covenant grace as worthy of reward.
