Piscator and Evangelical Righteousness

Piscator distinguishes evangelical and legal righteousness ontologically, and not only in the manner of appropriation. He not only believes that evangelical righteousness is received by grace, while legal righteousness is acquired by our works—a common belief among Reformed theologians—but he also regards the path to life through obedience of the law as closed for us, even if we are in Christ.
