Justification and Sanctification

Against Rome, Calvin responded that obedience is necessarily connected to justification because of their relationship as aspects of union with Christ, t11e real saving reality. Justification is distinguished from sanctification to clarify the extra nos ground of justification - the obedient death of Christ - but it has no existence as a grace independent of sanctification.
