The Arm of the Son
In Isa. 53:1, the Holy Ghost is called ‘the arm of the Lord;’ and why is he called so? but because he is the arm of the Son of God by whom he takes hold of the soul. Now this Spirit, when he comes down thus into the heart, works eyes, and feet, and hands, and all for to look upon Christ, and to come to Christ, and to lay hold upon Christ; for faith is expressed by all these: by seeing of him, and coming to him, and receiving him, and laying hold of him. And faith is eyes, and hands, and feet, yea, and mouth, and stomach, and all; for we eat his flesh and drink his blood by faith.
