Good and Necessary

The holy Scripture doth sufficiently contain and deliver all doctrines which are necessary for us to eternal salvation, both in respect of faith and good works, and most of these it delivereth to us expresly, and in so many words and the rest by good and necessary consequence. The Baptism of Infants, and the consubstantiality of the Father and of the Son, are not in those words expressed in Scripture, yet is the truth of both clearly taught in Scripture, and by evident proof may thence be deduced: That Article of Christs descent into Hell, totidem verbis, is not in the Scripture, yet it may be deduced thence, Acts. 2:27.
