Subordinate Images
He is the archetypal image. But then there are subordinate images. Adam was made in the image of God (Gen. 1:26-27). The Father loves the Son (John 3:35). So the making of Adam, as a reflection of the Son the original, expresses the original love of the Father within this world, and reflects the glory of the eternal Son.
