Synodical Rule of Faith

These rules are found in various expressions throughout the life of the church, from the informal proclamation of evangelists to the more formal statements of ecclesiastical synods and assemblies. The latter forms possess greater authority than those expressed in the teaching of individual ministers, for they are usually products of a collective body of ministers, drawn in humble deference to the church’s historic creeds and confessions, and endorsed by deliberating bodies of the church as a whole.
