Local Reformed Orthodoxy

In terms of theology, the English Puritanism of those such as John Owen, while having its own distinctive emphases and experiencing its own peculiar doctrinal controversies, was essentially the local manifestation of Reformed Orthodoxy. Were it not so, it would be possible to drive a distinct wedge between the kind of theological work being conducted by the Puritans and that being done by the Continental Reformed, but all of the evidence points in the opposite direction.
