Repentance and Right Living
Although the law does not directly and formally enjoin repentance (because it holds out no hope of pardon to the sinner and thus it properly belongs to the gospel), still materially and indirectly it is related to it because in it is prescribed the rule of right living and what is pleasing to God (which is the design of repentance).
