Canonical and Authentic
For this reason, we only receive Scripture as canonical and authentic that is in those languages [Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek]. And that applies not only to the autographs, which for many reasons, according to his most wise counsel, God in his providence has allowed to pass away, but also to the apographs as well...And yet Holy Scripture is not so tied to those languages that it cannot, and also ought not, be translated into other languages for the common use of the church. Likewise, all versions in those languages are considered authentic to the extent that they express the sources, according to which they must always be measured.
