It is our duty to zealously render obedience to God because we know the truth. The Lord God has promised to give his Spirit to us and to make godly people of those who walk in his commandments, observe his laws, and act according to them (2 Chron. 16:9; Isa. 40:29–31; Ezek. 36:27; Hosea 14:5–7; Joel 3:16). These texts do not speak of God wanting us to have a mere intellectual knowledge but a convincing and powerful knowledge that will capture all our thoughts in obedience to Christ.
